Andrew Burgess
Andrew Burgess is the founder and editor of OwnerClarify. He began working in grocery retail in 1996 and moved from frontline work into store leadership and category buying. He has led teams of about 180 people in operations with more than $100 million in annual sales and spent three years in category buying.
Most business decisions are not difficult because the arithmetic is impossible. They are difficult because the right questions were never asked, important assumptions stayed hidden, or the consequences were not compared. Andrew created OwnerClarify to help business owners work through those decisions using transparent calculators, focused decision routes, and plain-English explanations.
Andrew also founded Menu Rescue, an owner-operated website service for independent restaurants and other small businesses. Both brands are operated by Menu Rescue LLC.
What OwnerClarify is accountable for
Menu Rescue LLC, a Washington limited liability company, operates OwnerClarify and is responsible for what is published under the OwnerClarify name. Calculator formulas, explanations, examples, limitations, and correction decisions remain the operator's responsibility even when software assists with drafting or coding.
How a calculator earns the “live” label
A live calculator begins with a defined business question and a plain-language formula. A documented example is checked against the implementation, and important failure cases—such as zero hours, negative values, impossible percentages, or weak baselines—are tested before publication.
The page must also show the assumptions that materially affect the answer, explain what the result does not prove, and give the reader a practical next action. A passing test confirms that the code matches the intended formula under tested conditions; it does not validate a visitor's inputs or guarantee a business outcome.
What OwnerClarify does not claim
The tools provide educational planning estimates. They do not know every tax rule, contract term, lending condition, local labor rule, customer reaction, or operational constraint affecting a business. They do not replace advice from a qualified tax, legal, accounting, or financial professional who understands the specific situation.
Editorial and commercial separation
Advertising or affiliate compensation cannot change a formula, default input, result, or editorial conclusion. Commercial relationships must be disclosed near the recommendation, and paid placements must remain visually separate from calculators and educational content.
